Despite embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding result that virtually secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct passage to the knockout stages, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Moment
This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
